Power Supply Options

Our Arctic Spa tubs cover a range of power supplies, and here we want to give you some information on exactly what supplies you will need for each model, and the benefits of those supplies.

Plug & Play

The plug & play option on our hot tubs means that tub can be powered from a standard 13 amp socket at your home. These models come with a 2kw heater element (so we don’t pull too much electrical power) and are single pump systems. Ideal for properties where customers may struggle to get power from their board.

Plug and play is easier to install, as you won’t have as much electrical work in order to run a 13 amp socket out to the garden, but Arctic Spas still recommends a separate breaker be installed for your 13 amp hot tub supply. The only other difference from this option and the others is that your spa will take a little longer to heat up from scratch.

32 amp Supply

The 32 amp option on our hot tubs means that tub can it will require a 32 amp commando socket to be installed by your electrician. These models come with a dual 3.5kw heater element (so heat up is quicker) and are either two or three pump systems.

The 32 amp supply is the most common in the industry. The advantage of this option is that your tub will heat quicker, and it will also boost the temperature quicker for those evenings when you and your family are enjoying the tub for longer periods (which is always the case in winter, the best time for using your tub).

The 32amp option also gives you access to many of our additional options and pumps (meaning an even deeper massage). That also includes our award winning SpaBoy water purification system, which not only gives you crystal clear water but allows you to see ‘real time’ energy usage. No guessing or random figures, which is what everyone else is still doing 😊

50 amp & Above

The 50 amp option on our hot tubs means that tub can it will require a 63 amp commando socket to be installed by your electrician. These models come with a dual 3.5kw heater element (so heat up is quicker) and are five pump systems.

The 50 amp supply is the most mainly in 8’ models and swim spas where 5 pumps are used to produce a deep tissue massage or counter current. Just like the 32amp option, the advantage is that your tub will heat quicker, and it will also boost the temperature quicker for those evenings when you and your family are enjoying the tub for longer periods (which is always the case in winter, the best time for using your tub) as well as allowing you to have all 5 pumps running along with the dual heater.

Just like the 32amp option, models that are 50 amp and above allows you access to many of our additional options and pumps (meaning an even deeper massage).
